Natural Wedding Photography – all day

Are you looking for Natural Wedding Photography ? Whether you are getting married in Kent, elsewhere in the UK, or have booked a destination wedding, my style and approach is relaxed, natural and timeless. I will be with you all day on your wedding day (from the bridal preparations up to 30 minutes after the first dance). I believe your story should be captured from beginning to end.

Natural light in any season

I love all weddings, whether in the Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. Each season offers amazing lighting opportunities for natural wedding photography using the available light. This might be a bright Summer’s day, the soft glow of a Spring wedding, a stunning sunset, the beautiful orange and red hues of Autumn alongside a cosy fire, fun in the pouring rain (yes, this actually makes for some great creative photos, if you dare!), a Wintery snow covered countryside, candlelight, fireworks, sparklers, the list goes on… these all make your day unique and are part of your story. I mainly shoot without flash but I will use flash photography creatively during some parts of the day (I never use flash photography during your ceremony). There are no gimmicks here, just pure, authentic and fun memories from your wedding day.

Your day, your memories

I don’t want you to notice me on your wedding day – and I mean that sincerely. Of course, I will need to whisk you away for your short couple portrait sessions but, even then, once we have arrived at the portrait location, I want you to feel like you are husband and wife catching up on everything that has happened so far rather than being in the middle of a photoshoot. The laughter and the smiles will simply flow as you share the stories of your morning preparations and memories from your day.

We will work together to create natural wedding photography of your day which will reflect who you are as a couple and the personality that you have injected into your day. All of those tiny details that you have spent hours agonising over will not be missed. No two weddings are the same and I spend time discussing your wedding with you before the big day so that I feel more like a friend – someone who you can trust to capture the big and the small moments of your day, unobtrusively.

Unique photos and over 10 years’ experience

Yes, I have a lot of camera equipment and a lot of technical experience but really, when you book me, you are booking me for my artistic eye, creativity and ability to see a moment before it even happens. I don’t take thousands of photos in the hope that some turn out OK. Every time I press the shutter button, I capture something purposefully, something that will mean the world to you when you view the photo back. This skill was learnt from also shooting on film cameras alongside my digital cameras. You cannot see the image on a film camera until you receive the print back from the lab post-processing – crazy, right?! In a world where everyone sees an image on their phone/camera before they take it and can take hundreds to get one perfect shot – this is not possible with film. With film, you are taught to really look at what you are photographing, to feel into the moment and to just know when to hit the shutter button.

Film / Digital

I will capture your day on a mixture of digital and film cameras (by film, I mean, still photos captured on a film camera with old school film rolls). The majority is caught on digital with a few rolls of film added in. The film enables me to then hand edit my digital files to match the colour and tone of the film files so that you receive unique, timeless and stunning photos from your wedding day.

just a few

We got a real feeling Charli genuinely understood us and we were right, as the photos are exactly what we wanted, in fact, they have exceeded our expectations tenfold!

- Michelle & Lyndell -

The big day went so quickly for us but you managed to take us aside for photos at just the right moments – we never felt like we were away from the group for too long and it was really lovely to spend some time just the two of us and take in the moment while you were snapping away!

- Laura & Geoff -

Charli was really quick at editing the photos and provided little taster shots to keep us going until the full album was ready. The online gallery is so easy to use and allows family and friends to view all the photos too, which is a bonus.

Yes! Please contact me if you need additional hours/days' coverage and I can put together a bespoke quote.

If you have something planned (e.g. fireworks) for after your first dance then please let me know as it is likely that this will fall within your all day natural wedding photography package, with no extra costs.

I promise, promise, promise that most of my couples tell me this! But, how many of them look camera shy in my photos?

I don't set up gimmicky or awkward poses. I will capture the authenticity of your wedding day and the natural moments. See the couple portraits as a fun time for you both to relax in each other's company as newlyweds.

It's the worst, isn't it? When you go to a wedding and the couple disappears for an hour for photos!

In short, I break down the portraits so that you are away for 10-15 minutes maximum each time. This is something that my couples constantly provide amazing feedback on as they LOVE the portrait sessions (even those who hate having their photo taken).

These sessions give you time together, alone, on your wedding day. You will really treasure these moments - I promise you! It's a bit like a 'time out' from all of the wedding craziness where you get to just take it all in for a few moments and catch up with each other. You'll be back with your guests before they even realise you've gone.

I am always happy to submit a couple's wedding to the top UK blogs and magazines. They receive hundreds of thousands of submissions (literally) so I can never guarantee that your wedding will be picked to feature (and you should never take it personally if it isn't!). They have a hard job going through so many weddings and some end up being featured and some don't - just the name of the game! I have had weddings featured in British Vogue, Love My Dress, Rock My Wedding, Conde Nast Brides amongst many others (check out my Awards page).

Either way, your wedding will feature for at least 12 months on my website with its own page that you can share with friends and family.

No. I do, of course, have a base format that I use for each wedding to capture all of the key details and moments but, really, I am led by your wedding day. Wedding days are individual and designed around a couple's personalities. I am there to document your day and your personalities.

I remain flexible throughout as I have learnt, through many years of experience, that wedding days rarely go exactly as planned and this is all part of the fun!

Gallery cards contain a link to your private online gallery and the password.

These are credit card sized and I post these to you within 3 weeks of your wedding day so that you can add them into your thank you cards.

As a standard, 100 gallery cards are provided with your wedding package. Please let me know if additional cards are required.

I don't put a maximum limit on the number of photos you will receive. You will receive a minimum of 500 photos and generally my couples receive somewhere between 500-700.

During the peak season turnaround time is 4-6 weeks. I also release 5-10 taster photos during this period which my couples love to receive!

Please contact me via my contact page or email me on I will then email you through a Booking Form. Once you have completed the Booking Form, I will put together your Deposit Invoice and Contract. The Contract is signed electronically which makes the process quick and straightforward.

Once I have received the signed electronic Contract, and payment of the deposit, I will be exclusively booked for your wedding day. Unfortunately, due to the number of enquiries I receive, I cannot pencil in or reserve dates without receipt of a deposit and signed contract.

The deposit is £300. The remainder is then payable in two parts; (i) 50% of the balance three months before your wedding day and (ii) the remaining balance one month before your wedding day. Some couples prefer to pay the full balance upfront and this is also accepted.

After receiving your deposit and signed contract, I will then arrange a date for your pre-wedding consultation (this usually takes place 6-8 weeks before your wedding day).

Sadly, no.

Whilst I would love to be able to always fit within someone's budget, I do sadly have to turn down some weddings that I would LOVE to capture simply because I am unable to discount to meet a set budget.

I take on a select number of weddings per year so that I can really focus on each of my couples and give them an amazing photography experience. I have heard horror stories from some of my couples where their friends/family have received poor service from over-worked/in-experienced photographers - this makes me so sad as it is your wedding day and you deserve amazing service from everyone you book for your day.

I also spend a great deal of time on post-production for each wedding and my prices are reflective of the time that goes into each wedding which is far more than just the wedding day itself. I remain in contact with my couples long before their wedding and pride myself on my quick response times (generally within 24 hours). All too often I hear of suppliers that don't reply to emails for weeks and, having been a bride myself, I understand how frustrating this is. Quick response times are really important to me.

The standard album comes with 15 spreads (each spread is two pages) - so, 30 pages. 40-60 photos is a nice starting point with 20 additional 'optional' photos if I can fit them in nicely with the design.

Your album will tell the story of your day and overcrowding photos on each page is not recommended. There is nothing more impactful than one beautiful photo spanning two pages in the album which will take your breath away each time you look at it.

When will you receive your album? This is dependant on when you choose the photos for your album. On average, once the photos are picked, the designing and delivery takes around 8 weeks.

Yes. You receive a usage licence as part of your natural wedding photography package. This licence is personal to you as a couple.

Your USB contains low resolution files (for web sharing) and high resolution files (for printing).

Prints/canvases/wall art can also be ordered via your online gallery from my professional print lab. It should be noted that high street print companies do not always use the best colour profiles and sometimes your prints may look a different colour to what you see on screen if you choose to print them via a high street retailer. For the best print quality, please contact me and I can order prints for you from my print lab.

In over 10 years of capturing weddings, I have never been too sick to attend a wedding day.

Of course, I cannot guarantee that I will not end up in hospital (god forbid!) on your wedding day but the risk is the same as you also missing your wedding day - low!

If the absolute worst case scenario happens, I have a wide network of photographers that I can call upon for help. Touch wood, this has never been needed but it is there just in case of emergencies.

The copyright of the photos always remains with the photographer under UK Copyright Law (this would be the same for all UK photographers). You will have a personal usage licence for printing and sharing of the photos to your friends and family.

You wouldn't be able to sell the photos or publish them in a magazine without my permission (all magazines would ask to see the copyright owner's permission prior to publishing and this is standard across the photography industry).

You can purchase thank you cards, prints, albums, engagement shoots etc. Please contact me for a copy of my brochure which contains a list of these add ons.

Yes, I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Up to 100 miles of road travel (round trip) is included within my packages.

Anything over 100 miles will be charges at 0.45p per mile.

For UK weddings, accommodation will be required for 2 nights if the wedding is more than 2 hours drive away. That way, you know that I am safely close by for your wedding day and not at risk of being delayed by a motorway accident or other travel delay. I always find the best rate B&B's and usually accommodation charges are around £50 per night depending on the location of the wedding.

Destination weddings will require payment of flights for me and my assistant photographer, accommodation for 2 nights (for European weddings) and 3 nights (for weddings outside of Europe) and car hire costs. As an example, a wedding in Italy/France will usually cost approximately an additional £650-800 for all of the above destination wedding costs. I only ever charge at cost price and always look for the best available deals when booking. Weddings on smaller islands such as Mykonos/Santorini will incur higher travel/accommodation charges as flights and accommodation is more expensive in these locations.

Yes, please.

Both for myself and my assistant photographer. I am on my feet for most of the wedding day and will usually sit to eat food for 10-15 minutes whilst you are eating your wedding meal. Most venues are used to catering for photographers and are happy to provide meals as part of your wedding day - you would need to make them aware of this beforehand. I normally sit away from the rest of the guests so that I can changeover batteries etc in my equipment and prepare for the evening celebrations.

Most venues are in remote areas without quick access to somewhere to get food. If no meal is provided then it would mean me having to leave the venue to buy food and potentially missing an un-planned part of your wedding day (something I would rather not do!).

I am allergic to caffeine, gluten, dairy and chocolate (I know, completely sucks!). My assistant photographer has no allergies.

Yes, of course.

A lot of my couples don't actually want group shots anymore, especially a large group shot of everyone (which can take a while to organise). But, if you do want them then I will happily capture these for you.

I do limit these to a maximum of 5/6 groups. This is because they can take a significant amount of time to organise (up to 5 minutes per group shot). My photography style is that of storytelling and I will be missing natural shots of your guests whilst capturing the group photos. A more traditional photographer would be willing to capture large amounts of group photos as they are focused more on 'set up' shots of your wedding day as opposed to natural moments. If you are wanting a large amount of group photos then it may be that a traditional photographer's style is more suited to your wedding day.

One thing we cannot control is the weather.

The best answer, have fun with it!

If you think it will rain on your wedding day, grab those wellies and with some super, SUPER sized umbrellas we will go and create magical shots in the rain (if you want to, of course)!!

I have only had one wedding where it actually rained all day (imagine torrential, sideways rain!). The couple were troopers and we had so much fun taking creative indoor photos instead.

Your wedding day is your wedding day regardless of the weather or anything else outside of your control. What you will remember is the fun you had, and I will make sure your photos showcase those memories, whether it is bright sunshine or pouring rain.
